it's not bad. the entry area is nice - with a good fireplace, and the breakfast is good. The parking is safe and I really appreciate that they changed the elevators to require a key when you want to go to your floor - as a single woman traveller, this is awesome.
However, I wasn't a fan of the old decor, with a couch that had seen better days, and a desk chair that has seen so many seated at it that it had lost most of its padding.
The sheets and the room were some of the cleanest I've seen in a while, so it balances out.
As for the area, I lived 5 blocks from here for two years and never, ever had an issue with safety. In fact, it's probably one of the safest areas to be in, in Calgary.
