| - This theater is great! How have I not been here before?
I took my son to see Hotel Transylvania last night at Gilbert Stadium Cinema. It's a little hard to find because it's isolated in the back of Gilbert Town Center and not visible from the street.
The parking lot was practically empty, which isn't really surprising for this city on a week night. The lobby area was small but clean and totally empty, save the well-groomed & polite staff. Before coming, I signed up on line for Hollywood Theaters info and received a coupon for a free medium popcorn. The bag I received was HUGE - is this seriously a medium, I thought - but the popcorn was a little cool. Popcorn sits around for a while in an empty venue, I guess. The medium sized soda was also gargantuan, more than enough to share.
The previews had started when we walked in to our theater and only one other family was inside. My son and I picked a comfy spot and settled in to well-cushioned seats. I really liked the movable armrest between the seats and the high backed chairs. We kicked back, put our feet up, and enjoyed the show!
I highly recommend Stadium Cinema for a convenient, comfortable, semi-private movie experience that's great for families. If your priorities are booming stereo sound, high-tech lighting, special effects, or hot popcorn you may be happier elsewhere.
