Brought older mountain bike in for a tune up and tire repair, expecting to spend about $100. After several urgings, upsells, and sales pitches, ended up near $180. (They always add an additional $15 to bill 'just because', but say you may get it back. I didn't.) Told them I didn't want to spend more than the bike is worth (about $220). Received several more calls first asking to put on a new chain, and then new brake parts, and said no each time. Took two weeks. Was told in the end they could not guarantee bike was safe to ride upon returning to me because I turned down recommended work...but they didn't even mention these added items in the first estimate. Very disappointing.
Total bill was $244. Learn from my mistake. Go to any other place to have your bike fixed.
