  • If you EVER are "invited" to attend a presentation for ANY of the properties that has ANYTHING to do with Diamond Resorts International, DECLINE IT! RUN IN THE OTHER DIRECTION. It is unfortunate that the only type of "guest relations" people they have working for them are unscrupulous and deceitful. It's all about the high pressure sale. They don't give a rip about you as a "client" or "owner."It is ALL ABOUT THE MONEY. We recently accepted a FREE TRIP WITH FREE AIRFARE to Maui, (NOTHING IS EVER FREE is all too true) through Diamond Resorts. Like fools, we attended what was supposed to be an INFORMATIONAL UPDATE of our existing account. Instead it was a good old fashioned Bait and Switch. We suddenly found ourselves in a high pressure sales pitch. When the rep could see we weren't going to buy anything, she brought her "stupid-visor" who then played the "good-cop/bad-cop" routine. When that didn't work we were supposed to go to someone who just wanted to verify that we were offered what they said they'd offered. That's where the real trickery began. We ended up purchasing their SAMPLER product, which we were told included our home resort of Kauai. We discovered that night that it DID NOT include Kauai at all. Their sales rep. McFarland had not only stated that it did, but rushed us through the document signing including signing away our right to cancel in the documents he shoved under our noses. Despite contacting them the very next morning (within 24 hours) via email and phone and in person to cancel our transaction, Mr. McFarland told us he did not have the authority to do so. He also did not tell us that his supervisor, the person I wrote our email to, no longer worked for the company. We've been contacted by a John Klingerberg (who claimed to be their QC guy) and a Courtney (Senior Specialist), both ultimately telling us that we were stuck with the Sampler and the $3,000 bill. Their Founder and President Mr. Cloobeck, claims you can always contact him if you have a problem. That is such a crock. He and his board members are very well insulated and even if you write a sincere letter to them, giving them all the facts, as we did, NOTHING is ever resolved to the client's satisfaction. To add insult to injury, now they are trying to heap interest and penalties on us. It's not like we're flakes here. We just paid them a large amount to pay off our other account. We (and many other owners) also paid them way too much money for a water intrusion problem at their Point At Poipu, Kauai location, that should have been taken care of by their insurance company. There's a law suit pending. Do they care? Absolutely not. Their motto is "SCREW THE CUSTOMER." So take our advice, either save up for your annual vacation, or take out a small loan every year for one. You will be much better off. NEVER HAVING ANYTHING TO DO WITH A TIMESHARE, WORST OF ALL DIAMOND RESORTS INTERNATIONAL.
