I was at the Rainforest Cafe at Yorkdale Mall (Toronto, ON) yesterday for a 1 year old's birthday party and it was my 3rd visit, I wouldn't go there on my own accord. It is a fun place for kids, and even adults really since the decor is very unique and kinda neat, if a little on the creepy side (the thunder and animatronic animals made the birthday boy cry). The food is not very good, probably the worst $12.99 quesadillas (appetizer) I've ever had; the pita bread was too thick and the filling was mostly onion with some sauce I couldn't identify. The spinach & artichoke dip was quite tasty. The prices are high, we paid $13.99 for a hamburger (topped with a fried onion ring) with a side of Miss Vickie's potato chips, really? Potato chips as a side? Not a place you want to go for healthy meals. The service was great, our server even replaced a drink one of the adult guests spilled accidentally, at no charge. The restaurant has been around for over 10 years so obviously the gimmicks and kid-friendly atmosphere make it a winner.
