| - I hate going to salons generally because I am not a very "girly" girl and am pretty much totally out of my element in salons. When I went, I hadn't had my hair cut in about 5 years (hey, I had moved around a lot, and women's haircuts are expensive). Yes, I knew there were a lot of split ends, but the stylist was just so unbelievably mean about it, reaffirming my distaste for salons. The stylist refused to give me the cut I wanted, saying my hair was "too dead to do anything with aside from trim". She said I'd have to come back in a few months for a cut like the one I wanted. Sounded pretty scammy to me. To top it off, she cut my hair unevenly and when I pointed out in the chair that the two sides didn't match, she rudely patronized me saying, "well, you wouldn't know this, but of course it's never going to be even when you pull it straight like that." Uhhhhhhhhh..... what? Also, the cashier doesn't have the ability to tip on cards (so they say) so I had to run to the nearest ATM in order to get cash to tip. I shouldn't have bothered considering the service I got, but my conscience wouldn't let me not tip. Still, I won't be going back. Worst experience ever and now that I'm more familiar with the area, I've found much better places, for comparable prices.
