| - One Star? Really? I have to give it one?
Pinnacle Nissan was the WORST auto buying attempt/experience ever. The teenager that greeted us on the lot was the same person "closing" the deal, and the same person that F*@%#D it up- sorry buddy, you just blew your commission! Long story short, my out of state mother was going to be the primary on the loan, and me the cosigner, so that we could qualify for the 0% financing (the ONLY reason I was going to buy new, was because this guy "ran our credit" and assured me that we qualified, thereby steering me away from the used cars I would have otherwise have been interested in.) I looked on a Sunday, had my credit run and did all the paperwork on a Monday (when the banks were OPEN and his approval should have been legit- oh, did I mention I was there for about 4 hours total on Monday?) I had not yet taken possession of the car because the paperwork needed to be FedExed to CO for my mom to sign. Well, I went in on Tuesday to go over the paperwork one last time, only to find that we didn't qualify for the 0% anymore (after I already signed my part of the paperwork) and, *SURPRISE* I was actually going to be paying a much higher interest rate, making this car no longer affordable for me. Again, I would have never signed papers for a new car, I only went for it for the 0% that I was told we had qualified for. I sat in the finance office and everything, and had already given them my down payment check!!!
I will never go back to Pinnacle. When I told them that the new interest rate was not going to work for me and that I was going to go out and look for a less expensive used car, they refused to give me my down payment back. Since I had not taken possession of the car, and the "primary" borrower on the car had not signed, we had no deal and they had no right to withhold my down payment. Shady people- don't go there if you don't have to. I wound up buying my car elsewhere, and financing through my credit union and am so grateful that I didn't get roped in to Pinnacle's trap!
