| - I stopped by Mattress Firm few weeks ago on an errand no one wants to run--my stepdad was in the ICU and while we hoped he'd be home soon (turns out, we were way too optimistic), we knew he'd be unable to get up the stairs to the master bedroom, at least not initially. I needed a twin bed that could be delivered within 48 hours that I could set up on the main floor of the house. Mattress Firm had some nice options, but it looked like their twin stock was unavailable for at least 3-5 days. I didn't think I had that time (turns out I did, but I didn't know it then) and left the store. After a completely unsuccessful and torturous visit to Steinhafel's across the way, I called Mattress Firm back from the hospital late that night. They said they could find me a Twin XL, with a box spring, in stock. I said I'd take it. But their delivery guy couldn't come for 3 days which I said wouldn't work. They scrambled, made some calls, and the District Manager agreed to personally deliver (as in, in his own SUV) the mattress, box spring and frame) the very next morning. I was duly impressed with the service and their willingness to go above and beyond to help a customer out and was SO thankful I was able to take this small thing off my mom's very full plate.
