| - In the land of urban sprawl and desert colored shipping malls filled with chain stores and restaurants, St Francis, is an oasis in the desert, no pun intended.
Looking like a Dwell Magazine sustainable design structure on the outside, St Francis has an open flow, outdoor terrace dining, outdoor bar, large open windows connecting the interior and exterior spaces.
Serving farm to table comfort food, the kitchen is open. Our table had a view of bandanbed, bearded, tattooed chefs doing their thing, and they did it well.
Shaved Brussel sprouts and cauliflower salad with pomegranates almonds fried capers etc was excellent. The Moroccan meatballs in Moroccan spiced tomato sauce with pearl couscous, slow cooked pot roast, fire roasted peppers, all were delicious.
Their infused vodka drinks were strong and excellent.
Our servers could not have been more enthusiastic and charming. We got the whole " what farm the meat and vegetables came from" schtick, kind of like that Portlandia Chicken episode, which was cool, but we didn't get a bio or go to the farm to check out our meals parents :-D
Good place, good folks, nice change of pace.
