  • It was my first trip to Vegas and while they didn't prompt me to want to stay again in the future, it wasn't a bad place to lay my head when I needed a break from being a tourist. It was a $35 resort fee and while I did use the gym, I failed to see what the extra $35 a night really got me. And I wasn't happy about the the up-charge on the room rate my final night. I'd gotten a good rate. I checked in on a Thursday night(technically Friday morning about midnight) and received a rate of $69. The second and third night were $79, and the fourth night was $139....plus the resort fee and tax each night. The people I was traveling with were staying at Ceasars which is directly across the street from the Linq. DIRECTLY!!! Once I began making my reservations, Ceasars was going at $239 a night and I don't pay that kind of money to stay in a hotel, I'd need an entire house for that kind of money. I booked my room on Hotwire and was given a $35 food/gambling credit, since I don't gamble it went towards food. I foolishly thought the credit was for each night, but not so. I wish this would have been explained to me at check in. Also at check in, near midnight, I was given an upgraded room to what they consider a suite, so imagine my surprise when the next day, I went down to the desk for something and the desk clerk tells me that she has to get approval from her manager for me to continue to stay in the suite because the clerk from the night below had only booked me into the suite for one night and I had reserved a basic room. She disappeared into an office and came back with a smile and mentioned to me that my pleasant attitude was what had her really push for the manager to agree for me to stay in the suite. The suite was a nice size for me since I was traveling alone, there was a king size bed, and a living room with a couch and a small kitchen sink/bar area but really no bigger than any other "suite" hotel The gym was packed, but didn't fill over packed. There is a good amount of machines and an area where people were working out on mats. The cool towels are heavenly, after the workout. There was a wellness convention in town the same time I was there and those folks were everywhere so I did a quick hour on the treadmill and got outta dodge, I didn't come to Vegas to exercise anyway. I looked around the spa as I left to see if there were any spa products to try and all I found were over prices spa items and knew there were better ways to spend my money. I was please with the restaurant options that are attached to the hotel and used $27 of my $35 credit the first night at Guy Fieri's Kitchen and Grill which is located in the promenade area of the hotel. Actually, I told the waiter I had the credit yet he charged the meal to my room, instead of against the credit so I went back the second day and used the credit toward a different meal. Be sure to if you are using food credits your tab is applied towards that and not your room. I decided to extend my stay an extra day because TI, the rapper was going to be performing at a club on Sunday night and since I'm from Atlanta, how was I going to pass up an opportunity to see T.I.P. in Vegas on my first trip to Vegas, he's practically Mr. Atlanta AND they offer a HighRollers yoga class in the Ferris wheel in the promenade area and I had missed the opportunity the day before to sign up. They only take six people per class. The class is offered twice a day. It was $85 for the day time class and $99 for the sunset class. I tried to sign up for the class by going to the ticket booth and with the hotel concierge and neither were able to help me get into the sunset class for Saturday, but admitted the class was not sold out. They take appointments during certain time and if you miss it, you are out of luck, there are no last minute walk ups So sign up in advance. This is also when the up-charge in the room rate applied, I go downstairs about 6am Sunday morning and explain that I want to extend my stay. She advises me that the rate is $139 plus the resort fee and tax. That's basically twice what I stayed for each night preceeding. And on top of that, once again, they threaten to kick me out the suite to a basic room for the extension. Once again the front desk clerk dips into an office and comes back and says the manager will allow me to continue to stay in the room I've already spent three days in to this point. On Sunday afternoon, I went back to my room to lay down about midday so imagine my surprise when it seems like someone had laid a boombox right next to my ear but it was actually coming from the pool area below. I was on the 11th floor and it was LOUD!!!!!!! A nice stay, but its Vegas, there's lots to choose from and this place doesn't do anything special to draw you back.
