| - Horrible spa atmosphere, good massage, but will not be back. Upon calling to schedule the appointment, I found it odd that they told me they had "any time" that day available because "we're here all day", and didn't ask for a phone number or anything other than a first name to schedule the same day appointment. When I arrived it was clear why, the salon was completely empty!... aside from the receptionist who was having her hair done by a stylist when I arrived (you think they would have tried to put on a more professional front knowing I was the only appointment to be arriving).
The massage room atmosphere was the worst. Rather than the warm dim lighting of most places I've been, the lighting in the room was provided by a string of bluish-white Christmas lights hung on a tree in the corner of the room. There was a piece of unfinished drywall leaning against the wall where I placed my things. And the worst part of all: rather than relaxing spa music in the background, I was massaged to the sound of Frank Sinatra radio on pandora in the salon. The masseuse was actually very good, however somehow listening to I Did It My Way and Mrs. Jones wasn't my idea of a relaxing get away. It literally felt like I was being massaged in the back of an Italian restaurant.
Afterward, the masseuse did not meet me to ask how I felt or walk me to the front. Upon walking myself to the front desk, I was not told a total by the receptionist. Instead, the first thing I was greeted with was the owner rudely asking me from the side of the desk "What do you want to leave for a tip?". Um, you haven't even given me the cost of the service itself and you aren't the one ringing me out! When I replied that I'd like to leave 20% gratuity, I then had to ASK what the total was! Lastly, I was directed to write my email in a notebook under a list of other handwritten emails in order to receive my receipt. It's been 3 days and I still haven't received a receipt.
