| - I really, really wanted to give this hotel a 4 or 5 star rating, but after much consideration, I couldn't justify why it deserves a 4 or 5.
I met up with my family in Vegas to celebrate my mom's birthday. Since my parents are avid Vegas-vacationers, The Palazzo and NYNY gave my parents free suites. Naturally, my parents booked reservations at BOTH hotels - The Palazzo for my brother and I; NYNY for my parents. One thing about my family... it's not enough that we have separate rooms, but we all stay in different hotels, lol. It was my first time at this hotel and although I like the hotel, I didn't "love" the hotel.
LIKES:
+ Great customer service. My brother and I ordered room service and it arrived exactly on time. The lady that served us was very accomodating and super nice. Every staff that I passed by would ALWAYS smile and say hello.
+ All suite rooms. The rooms are very spacious, quiet and wonderfully decorated.
+ Plush, soft towels.
+ Comfortable beds and pillows.
+ The casino didn't smell like a casino.
+ The shops were just next door.
DISLIKES:
- Club Grazie. Their membership program points expires. If you don't stay "active" in a year, you'll lose all of your points.
- They don't have a "Casino Invited Guests" Lounge. Their lounges are only for Platinum and Gold members, which are located in different hotels. The Platinum Lounge is located at The Palazzo while the Gold Lounge is located at The Venetian. So if I was a Gold member and staying at The Palazzo, I would have to walk to The Venetian in order to get to the Gold Lounge.
- Originality. As my brother puts it, "I'm not impressed. It looks similar to The Venetian." Their rooms have the same set-up as their sister hotel. In comparison, MGM, NYNY, TI, Mirage and Bellagio are all from the same owner yet they're all different from each other as far as decor, set-up and theme.
ALTHOUGH, I have more pros than cons, MOST of the items under the pros list, I've experienced from other hotels. Nothing really stood out that sets them apart from other hotels and I think I have enough experience to make this claim (I've stayed in at least 10 hotels that's located on the strip). In short, it's a really nice hotel with great customer service but it was the amenities they offered their guests that fell short of my expectation of a luxury hotel. It was very obvious that the "perks" were only catered to the high end clientele.
