My roommates and I moved out of Genoa Lakes a month ago after one year, for a few reasons. First and foremost to be closer to work, but there had been complications from day 1. Truth be told, there are very few complexes where you won't experience slow response to maintenance and frequent staff turnover, so I can't say I moved in expecting a whole lot in that regard. My advice to anyone looking to move in to this complex would be A) view the appartment the day of your move in before you sign the lease to ensure it has been maintenanced and cleaned since the last tennants, and B) don't be afraid to be annoying. Squeeky wheel gets the oil, so squeek loudly and frequently or you may get lost in the mix. All in all, this place is an average apartment living experience. If you want to avoid these sorts of complications, you should probably not be renting since it's sort of the industry standard. The moat prevelent substandard issue was the large amount of uninvited visitors at the door asking for money. Usually kids and teenagers with a sob story. Do not give to any of them or they will become weekly annoyances. On the plus side, the landscaping is nice and the office allows residents to use the computer/printer in the community area.
