  • Thanks to our church's staycation retreat weekend, my husband and I were able to experience many facets of this resort for an evening. The property is beautiful, they really blend the line from outside to inside with glass walls, landscaping, and parts of the buildings built into the mountain. It's on top of a butte, secluded on the mountain but surrounded by the city with great views for miles. The lobby and restaurant are in one building and guest rooms are below, and the two are connected by the pools, a waterfall, and a bridge that overlooks the desert scenery. The rooms are standard Marriott rooms, with beds that everyone seems to enjoy but I find a little bit overrated. The room was extremely clean though, and comfortable overall. Our group was able to enjoy the Chairman's suite for a part of our seminar, and it is literally larger than my house. The crowd of 50 or so fit easily and everybody admired the small sauna in the master bedroom. The hotel elves reset our conference room between each use, giving us more than enough pens, notepads, and those little hollow hard candies. They assisted with the tech setup, but were primarily invisible to the guests. We had lunch in the cafe just off the lobby, which was nice. The salad with squash and pecans was surprisingly hearty, and we split a standard burger. I do wish the burger would come with a side, but you have to add one on. The views are nice from the cafe either looking out the glass wall at the desert landscaping or the indoor waterfall. Our waitress was one of the few employees we really encountered during our stay, and she was pleasant and accommodating. She split our burger on to two plates without being asked, which is such a considerate effort. Unfortunately, we were not able to enjoy the spa or the pool, but they looked lovely. I was happy with the stay overall and would return for a staycation, next time the situation allows.
