| - 'Semi' Enjoyed a dinner at Gordon's pub but various issues kept it from earning more than 3 stars Sunday Oct 4. First, the hostess, trained yes, competent, not really. Poorly handled phone res and directions. As locals we hadn't been here and hosted my brother and friend, party of 4 plus child. The waiter was nice, simple in his approach, friendly, etc. but I hate it when the have deliver/expediter servers that come and drop off food without really knowing who has what, no sense for service, unfriendly and unengaging and close to being rude. Both food delivery people-a guy for our apps and a lady for the salads were basically rude. Uninterested in serving, embarrassing for the fact that the restaurant was barely busy. I feel
Bad for being their table tonight. The waiter did provide some nice choices for my wife and I to dine locally as we just moved here which, was above and beyond, and for that he earned his 18% tip. The lighting went high to low twice during dinner. Amateur hour? I personally question the pricing on the beers and the wines too. I'm in F&B consultancy/marketing with large corporate accounts and my take here is their beer pricing is too high. Ok, expensive to be expensive- I get that, it's Vegas tourism, but portion sizes should be questioned too. I had the Kale and Bacon Shepherds Pie. Mistake. Ok to Good-yes, small-oh yes!!! It was a French onion soup size bowl filled half way with a puff pastry on top. Are you kidding? I don't even want to know what that cost me! 300 bucks later, left hungry. Thank goodness for wives that leave portions for their husbands to eat. Won't recommend.
