| - Just got my hair done today and I am just wishing I could turn back time. Like many, I tried out this salon because Groupon offered a great discount for a cut/partial highlight/style and the salon was in my area. Also, most of the reviews were pretty good so I had some faith that I'd walk out with great looking hair, too. Well let's just say my hair looked almost exactly like how it did when I walked in but green!! -which is not how I wanted to get my hair done. I asked for a trim and soft blonde highlights over my brown hair. Instead of highlights, I got a balayage which is similar to highlights but not placed on the scalp so it grows out looking more natural. I did agree on this technique beforehand but the application was not consistent so I have tiger stripes and spots in random places. Also, to tone down the color after bleaching my hair, it cost an additional $25. So be prepared! Anyhow, not only did I pay more but the outcome was pretty awful. The stylist did not use the correct amount of color to neutralize the tone and my hair turned out green. She tried to justify it by telling me it will fade out in a few days. And aside from that, when she started blow drying my hair, she pulled out a round brush from her drawer that was full of hair and fuzz! I saw her quickly pulling some of the hairs out with a towel!! Ewwww right? I turned around and asked her if the brush had just been used and she said that it had been sanitized but the hairs on it are from previous clients but the hairs are clean because she only uses the brush after washing their hair. Omg really? What kind of sanitation codes do you follow? I told her I was unhappy with my hair and she offered to fix it but I had to get back to work so I couldnt stay any longer. So all in all, if you are going with a Groupon, be prepared to pay extra, also there are only 3 stylists that accepts Groupon so you will be assigned to one of the three. I know it's not totally fair to rate this salon based on one stylists' performance but the fact that she used such a dirty looking brush leaves me to wonder if the other stylists do it too and what their safety and sanitation standards are. Oh and the salon is cute and clean but it's definitely not nice and shiny and new like how it looks on their website. I like having nice looking hair and regret so much that I went here today. My hair seriously looks ugly and I'm not sure what I'll do yet because I don't want to do more damage to my hair. Ugh. Good luck!
