  • 1 star is too many to give this hell hole. I walked thru the ER on Friday with extreme eye pain. My neurologist CALLED (didn't visit) and said "you've previously had optic neuritis, so I'm assuming it's that.. let's treat it as optic neuritis. Mind you, none of my symptoms of optic neuritis were what I've previously experienced in the past. But I trusted him. He told me I could stick it out all weekend and come see him Monday to set up home care for iv steroids or be admitted Friday, stay till Saturday and then go home with home care steroids. Having a full time job, I said let's get this over with and start now! Worst decision. I was told by 3 people that I'm leaving Saturday. Saturday morning, an internal medicine doctor stops by and tells me I'll be here till Monday because home care isn't an option. He said he'll talk to a case manager to set up home care. He leaves and I'm thinking.. my eye still hurts, steroids have done NOTHING.. why hasn't an MRI been done?? I request this be done Saturday afternoon. I hear NOTHING until Sunday morning. A case manager finally comes in, says she never got orders to set up home care (so much for talking to her doc) and she'll see what she can do. Too late, I'm leaving tomorrow. A neurologist comes in a couple hours later, doesn't even know I have been in this hell hole for 2 days (because she never got orders to see me!!!!!) and tells me my symptoms are nothing like optic neuritis. She orders an MRI. I get this a couple hours later. Before that, the load me up with morphine, ibuprofen, non narcotics, Migraine medication and nothing is taking my pain away. It's now Monday, MRI comes back completely normal (glad I was pumped with steroids for 3 days for no reason). Another neurologist says I'm being discharged and being sent home with something to relieve the pain. I was given Percocets, my eye still hurts. Bottom line, this hospital has done nothing. I'm seeing an eye specialist tomorrow, firing my neurologist for being worthless (still haven't heard from him since Friday and can't get an appt until next week) and never coming back to thunderbird. If you have multiple sclerosis, stay away from this place!!! They don't care about you, they don't attend to you, they give you narcotics rather than figure out what your issues actually is!
