After just getting off the plane from Seattle, a stop at The Weary Traveler seemed appropriate. Smiling faces & some good ole comfort food was just what the doctor ordered.
At night, TWT's decor is reminiscent of a divey saloon from the olden days. However, during my last visit, I got a chance to see a whole new side of the establishment. In the daytime hours, the sunlight cascading into the space creates a more lighthearted cafe vibe. It actually brings a certain serenity to the space as well, which is much needed for the tired and weary that enter.
The food is very simple. They don't seem to try to do *too* much, or try to be *too* fancy. Not so many items on the menu that you're dizzy trying to decide what to get. No fanfare. No pomp and circumstance. What you see is what you get, and what you get is a solid meal that is sure to fill you up in all the right ways.
**don't let the hunt for the entrance discourage you. The unassuming side entrance opens up to a world of goodness. Worth the short detour, for sure!
