  • Ah so sad. I hate putting in bad reviews, but I feel that I must write this so that others will be aware. Long story short, I had two incorrect transactions while ordering my coffee. Long Story: I ordered a white mocha ($5) and a mountain berry tea ($4). The coffees have three sizes so I specified 12oz. The barista told me that as a specialty, I could choose any size and it would be the same price. I was confused, so I said I'll just take the medium size (since I was paying the same amount no matter what...?). Later, my boyfriend checked the receipt and asked why our order came to $18. I checked and saw that it said "Specialty" and "Fresh berry juice." When I went to talk to the barista, she said that they did not have a 'white mocha and that was specialty [sic].' I asked about the juice and she said something along the same lines. I was confused because it clearly said White Mocha, 12 oz, $5, and mountain berry tea $4. She repeated what she said and then asked if I wanted a large size and kept pointing to the other menu items and told us they didn't carry the white mocha or berry tea. Fortunately, another barista came and told her that we ordered different items from the ones she has put into our order. In order to cancel the orders, they had to call the manager. The manager came, and the first barista gave her the incorrect order to cancel. After some time with the computer, she smiled and told me everything was okay. Second barista asked me if I wanted a receipt of my canceled order. As I walk away, I check the receipt and wow, they canceled a $34 burrito order for an M- W-berg (name redacted for privacy). I'm not male, nor am I Jewish (neither is my boyfriend). So, I went back and pointed out that they canceled an order for two burritos. They found the correct receipt and finally canceled my first order and joked that someone was very lucky today (in my mind, I thought wryly that it was definitely not me!) Well, after paying for my correct order, and getting my drinks. If I knew it was going to take this long, I would have just gone to Starbucks. Later, after thinking about what happened, I wondered if I was specifically targeted because of my age or race, or if she was honestly that clueless about the menu. When I walked by the coffee store later, I saw a huge line and couldn't imagine her getting all the orders incorrect. I really hate confrontations and initially didn't even want to ask the barista about the incorrect orders when my bf pointed it out, but $18 is quite different from $9, and I was so surprised at the way she kept insisting that was I ordered didn't exist on the menu.
