They get 1 star because the staff is extremely friendly here. With that said I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It is not in the best neighborhood, but certainly not the worst, I'm from LA so I didn't feel unsafe. I stayed here 1 night and my car had a cracked window the next morning. I now have to replace my window and the tint on my passenger side. The car next to me wasn't so lucky as their window was completely broken. When I checked in there was another guest waiting for the police because his car had been broken into as well.
The front desk acknowledged to me at the time of check in that they were having a problem with cars being broken into, and I was advised to park at the front of the hotel. Well this hotel has 3 floors and probably 25+ rooms per floor and only about 15 parking spaces at the front of the hotel. So mathematically speaking a spot upfront isn't possible for everyone. The only reason I stayed is because this was a holiday weekend and there were no other options for lodging in Las Vegas.
When I realized my window had been cracked I told the front desk and the woman acknowledged that "they" (the hotel staff?) knew who was breaking into vehicles. I told her my car was parked in front of a sign that says the parking lot is under 24 hour surveillance, at which time I was informed the cameras do not get the rear of the building, only the middle going forward to the front. Gee...lucky me!
