| - The Marquee is the place to be to watch great bands. I have been attending the Marquee for several years, and have not been disappointed ever. They are able to book many national acts, and the sound is good. The new renovations have even given me a greater appreciation because I can now get a drink from the main bar in the lobby instead of going to the front of the stage, and still watch the band I came to see.
Speaking of which, I hope those bar tenders in the lobby get paid well. With the onslaught of people asking for drinks, they all keep their cool. I have been at the back of a long line during busy shows many times, and have still received a drink in less time than at other music or sporting venues. And when I do make it to the front of the bar to join the rest of the mob, the bar tenders have acknowledged my presence, reassuring that they will get to me after serving the people that were there before me. This is on busy nights, which is expected from a popular venue that will draw a large crowd. The bartenders are experienced and knowledgable on being behind the bar, which results in a quick turnaround in fulfilling drink orders. There are a few bartenders that I return to on a regular basis because of this outstanding service I have received during the busy shows. Even on nights that are not as busy, I have had no issue walking up to the bar and being able to get my drink in no time.
Another benefit of the Marquee is its location. For those that want to attend a show, but do not want to drive, the venue is located right next to the Center Parkway and Washington light rail stop. Also, it conveniently located to Mill Ave. and its many different bars and restaurants for pre and post show activities.
