| - I gave it one star only because I had to. I wish it could have been negative. I read many reviews so I know that many times I discount very bad reviews, however, this place is so poorly run...especially for a concert which is what my complaint is for...I am hoping you heed my warning and just simply go to another available venue.
I showed up over 30 minutes before the concert was to start (after a 4 hour trip to get there) and the lines were backed up out of the building. I have gone to many sporting events in NYC, Boston, Baltimore, Buffalo, Toronto, etc where well over 10,000 people were attending and had no problems getting in. I figured this would be the same. Unfortunately, no...not only did it take the full 30 minutes plus 10 more (the concert started about 5 minutes late) to get to the place where they were scanning the electronic ticket information but the system wasn't connecting my ID to my tickets. I had registered my credit card on their site so I could use it as id for my tickets to get in. Since that system didn't work, I offered my paper receipt but they told me I had to stand in another line that was back outside of the huge crowd I had just waited in.
Once I got to that line of about 50-100 people that were all having trouble getting in, I waited again while the concert started and was going. After 10 minutes of listening to concert music while waiting in line and people hearing me swearing and screaming that this was completely unacceptable, some staff member finally came out and started asking people in line what kind of trouble they had. He waited on me shortly there after and went back to validate my ticket information with my ID. He apologized for missing part of the concert at that point (already around 20 minutes in) I requested to get the information of the manager so I could contact them about a refund for missing part of the concert because of their poor organization. He left and came back about 5 minutes later with a name and number of the person to contact...so now we made the trek to our seats and after missing about 30 mins of the concert, we were finally able to settle in.
Upon returning home, I called the contact that I had received the next day. I explained that I had spent about $150 for the two tickets and driven 8 hours round trip to this concert and I thought that their poor design really cost me about 25% of the concert so I thought I was due some compensation. He explained that for whatever reason the crowd that showed up all mostly came in that 30 minutes right before the concert and that had never happened before. Furthermore, he said it was unfortunate, but not really something that was able to be planned around. I called BS as the crowd was barely 10,000 people and I explained that baseball stadiums in NYC, the Buffalo Bills, and the Cleveland browns have well over 50,000 coming to their games and they get all those people into the games in a reasonable speed. He then also gave me an excuse that I would have missed very little if I had brought the correct ID for the scanners, however, once again, the instructions I had printed out and brought with me on my paper receipt showed no mention that I couldn't use my registered credit card for ID.
Bottom line, he didn't want me as a customer again, and I hope I can deter enough people from chosing this venue that I get my $40-$50 worth of credit back.
Good luck to you if you go to this venue...its horrible and the staff are not reasonable.
