| - I'm not sure how badly I should complain about this place, considering I got 4 free cupcakes with a coupon off of FabFind.com.
But quite honestly, there's no way I'd return.
When I got the free coupon last week, I went to there website to see what kind of items they had. I'm hosting my sisters' wedding shower in November, and was actually excited when I saw the collection of cupcakes. I thought I would be a good opportunity to try the cupcakes, before buying them!
My boyfriend and I drove down to 'that' end of the city, and presented our coupon. The young girl behind the counter took my coupon, and then asked me what flavours I wanted.
I looked in the direction she was pointing at, and realized that that weak selection of cupcakes was what I had to pick from.
There were about 6 cupcakes out on display. There were only 3 flavours to pick from - lemon, lime & a chocolate-oreo type.
Nothing exciting. And they looked surprisingly & sadly small.
I know it's free and all .. but really?
That's it?
It's 2pm on Sunday. They'd only been opened for 1 hour.
And that's ALL you have left?
I left, without an upsell. They had NO inventory to buy.
and I"m a sucker. I would have bought *something*, but there was literally nothing!
They had some pre-packaged box of rice crispy 'sushi'. It was basically a roll of of rice crispy, sliced to 'look' like sushi. It came with a set of disposable chopsticks, and quite honestly, looked amateurish - It reminded me of something I'd made in Girl Guides to get my cooking badge. Plus, it didn't help that most of the boxes were set up on the small shelf on an angle, so all of the 'sushi' rolls had fallen into each other, and had started to crumble.
I'm not sure how this place would survive without it's custom branding cupcakes.
The cakes I saw in the back fridge looked okay, at best. Nothing impressive at all.
My boyfriend observantly said the place "smelt weird. weird being not good".
I have to admit, it didn't smell like a cupcake should. Or that you imagine it should.
Oh, and the cupcake was ok. I guess.
Nothing outstanding, that's for sure.
