rev:text	I went here because it is one of the only places near by listed on the Nugenesis website for powder dip nails, an innovative uv/led free type of powder polish that feels more like a set of acrylics. I figured this salon would be the best option for my first time trying dip nails as they probably had appropriate training since they are on the official site. The place was busy, reception and nail techs were friendly and I didn't wait long for my appt. My nail tech did try to suggest shellac or opi gel instead of the powder dip but they didn't have the colour I wanted and I came for the dip so I got the dip. Little did I realize, her suggestion was probably because she wasn't comfortable doing the dip nails because the outcome was less than satisfactory. My main issue is the application and finished look of the nails. Firstly, it's expensive ($50, cash only, most places only charge $40-45), no manicure or cuticle work was included and the lotion application after drying was performed by someone else at the end of my appt, who didn't introduce herself and came out of nowhere. I opted out of getting tips/extension, which also didn't affect the price of $50. The glue that goes under the powder was thick and the brush was unkept, I'm thinking this is why the final product was so bad. The finished look was bulky and uneven and I felt like I was getting on her nerves when I asked her to file the tops more evenly and make the shape nice. My nail tech left me to dry at the table while she went to do her next appt. The "finished" nails had glue and thick residue everywhere and most of my nails were stuck to the skin under the free edge. It was very uncomfortable and I asked someone if my nail tech could come clean it up as I had trouble using my fingers. She came back in a huff and using her gloved hands from her other client, she picked away at my nails so hard that they bled. I left and paid but was very unhappy. I ended up reshaping the nails myself. I don't recommend this place for Nugenesis powder dip nails as there are others who do it better. My friend gets them all the time in Toronto so that's where I'll go next time.
