  • I was staying in the area and was in need of a blowout. The day before I wanted the appointment, I sent an appointment request and I also explained that I have bead extensions. There is no explanation of their pricing online so I figured it should mention it. Basically, my issue is with their insanely overpriced services and lack of clarity via their website. For reference, in the US blo dry bar charges $55 for a blowout with bonded extensions and you may choose any one of seven styles with your blowout. I have also use Lestylebar in Montreal and it is the same. Glamour secrets told me it was $32 for the blowout and $25 additional for the bonded extensions. Okay, $57 fine. Well in the end I was charged $87 because apparently it is an additional $30 to have your hair styled. They DO NOT include any type of style. The blowout is only a wash and dry. I think that kind of defeats the purpose of a blowout, no? I tipped the lady well because overall she did a good job so now we're up to $105 for a damn blowout. Like are you joking me right now? That's more than it costs for a trim, highlight, with wash and style at my regular salon. As for the experience itself, I arrived a few minutes early and was accommodated. The space is super cramped and they only have one hair washing station. I had recently had my extensions put in and so I have been very delicate with them because I don't want them to come out. The lady started washing my hair and scrubbing really hard, pulling on the extensions, she rinsed my hair with ice cold water. It was not a relaxing experience. We went over to the chair and she was pleasant enough, we chit chatted. She started drying my hair and when it got dry enough to use a round brush, she did. Well I almost had a heart attack because she was pulling on my extensions so much, like they were just my normal hair. I guess at least I know they are very secure but she certainly didn't give my hair any special care because it had extension. She curled it with a flat iron and gave me a light spray and off I went. The whole thing took about 30 minutes. It's the next morning and my hair still looks relatively good, primarily because the extensions hold curl better than my natural hair.
