I really, really don't like leaving 1 star reviews. But man oh man, this was a bad experience. There is complimentary valet which is a huge perk. If you choose to self park, read the signs posted so you don't get booted. Tip the valet, they hustle hard. Me and the boyfriend had a reservation for 7 on a Friday and were running late but we were still seated pretty quickly. I will also note that we had a groupon worth $40 worth of food. We ordered the New Orleans BBQ shrimp for the appetizer. I know that garlic is an ingredient but I almost died. The shrimp was well cooked but it seemed like they soaked the shrimp in garlic, sautéed it in garlic, used garlic powder- the whole nine. Thank goodness that they provide complimentary bread to negate some of the garlic. For the entrees I ordered the Etouffle all 3 (chicken, shrimp, crawfish) and the boyfriend ordered the Creole all 3. Most disappointing entrees ever because there was no seasonings. The Etouffle had heat but no flavor. At a Cajun restaurant, I should be tasting at the minimum some Old Bay seasoning and some Lawry's. The boyfriends creole was the same- bland. Needless to say we used the hell out of the salt/pepper shaker on the table. It's actually pretty sad because the meats were properly cooked but so damn bland. I've been to the NOLA before and loved it. I've eaten Cajun food before and loved it. I've made Cajun style foods myself at home before and loved it. Thank goodness for Groupons because I would've had to hop in the kitchen myself to show them how it's done if we paid in full. Service was odd. Our server was perfect at first but then it just went downhill. I was almost done eating when I got a refill of water. We didn't get checked on until we were also almost done eating. We ordered beers in cool glasses. The boyfriend wanted a second beer and the server throws a bottled beer on the table and quickly walks away...Um okay. I'm glad I ate here because of all the rave reviews because I wanted to try it myself but I will NEVER return. This place is borderline insulting.
