| - Wow! Never thought I would write this! Coach House is the oldest bar in Scottsdale. I live within walking distance and frequent. By frequent, I mean 5--10 times a year. We walk there when friends are in town, or if we want an afternoon break from the kids. It's usually cool and mellow, not a lot of people. However, 4-5 times a year, around the Holidays, you can expect a line. A group of friends went out, walked over, and waited in line. No big deal at all. We all hung out for awhile, then a girl in our group didn't feel well. I asked my husband to walk her our to catch her ride. We asked the bouncer, because there was a line, if he could get back in. He said absolutely. I'm sure you can guess the rest of story. He comes back, they say no way. He was gone more than 5 minutes, to the end of the line you go. So here's the bottom line, as far as being the "cool, oldest bar in Scottsdale" they were jerks. Go if you want, but if your friend, wife or husband needs a breath of air, just know they don't care. To the end of line you go. So if you're looking for a glimpse of Old Town Scottsdale as it used to be, this is not it. Pass. Drinks used to be cheap back in the day. Not anymore.
