  • A +++++++++ Getting tired of mushy overpriced produce at Smiths, Albertsons and Vons I took a friends advice and went to Mariana's for veg. It was great advice. Glad I took it. At those other stores the produce is sprayed with water constantly and kept cold. This is so they can keep it out longer and bilk the consumer. IT ALSO RUINS THE PRODUCE! At Mariana's the produce is fresh and kept out at room temperature AS IT SHOULD BE! As a result the cucumbers taste great and stay firm for up to 2 weeks! They are also about 40% of the price of those other places. Red bell peppers at Smiths are over a buck and a quarter each... WHAT?????? Cheaper, fresher and better. What else do you need? Same thing goes for the meats. The other stores should go and see how it's done.... because it's done right. I know some folks are scared off because stepping into to the place is like taking a step into some obscure locale in Mexico, El Salvador or Los Angeles, but fear not good people, these folks are nice. Only drawback is they don't carry some of our favorite mass market brands. So, you'll still have to go to Walmart for some of the other garbage. But for produce and meat: it's Marianas! BEST GROCERY STORE IN LAS VEGAS.
