As much as I hate seeing animals locked up, I still love the zoo because I love animals. I spend hours there. I've been to the Pittsburgh zoo many times. The lines were long today because it was such a nice day and they seemed to have a lot of new trainees. They gave us a map with Memorial Day hours on them which we did not know. We went to watch the sea lion show we waited and waited until I called the office from the exhibit to ask why the show wasn't starting, she told us about the map reflecting the Memorial Day show times and show times were actually an hr earlier than advertised. I said they should've told us that when they handed out the maps and she said oh well basically. That is a big reason why I'm giving a not so great review. Also, In my opinion they seem like they don't care about their animals as much as they used to. The outside habitats seemed clean enough but the aquariums were filthy and definitely needed cleaned. The glass enclosures in the monkey exhibits were gross and needed cleaned. The food and drinks are overpriced, I paid $17 for 5 bottles of water. Not everything was negative, it was a beautiful day out and we definitely got our exercise! Most of the animals were out, but some in smaller numbers than usual. I'll never stop going to the zoo, I just hope they do some spring cleaning and take better care of their animals
