Thank you all for the great advice - I went to Dr. Yocham with my boxer who had been sick for 4 weeks. I had already spent $1000 on a misdiagnosis on a greedy vet that upsells and runs tests on everything but the problem. The original diagnosis that vet gave was stomach problems and "a bacterial infection but we don't know where the infection might be." My dog was coughing and gagging and had symptoms very similar to kennel cough.
Dr. Yocham spent five minutes with my dog and couldn't believe a valley fever titer hadn't been done first by the previous vet. Dr. Yocham ran the titer (for a very affordable price which was a quarter of the price the previous vet quoted), and he tested positive with an aggressive case of valley fever and pneumonia. Dr. Yocham was able to relieve my dog's symptoms with very affordable injections and was very helpful in suggesting affordable pharmacies for the medication he will need for several months. Kudos to Walgreens for their super affordable Fluconazole. I am so glad I got a second opinion and am so glad I found this caring and intelligent vet, and so is Rufus. The staff and vet assistants are very friendly and knowledgeable too and can easily answer important questions over the phone. Great vet, great staff, and great prices - highly recommended!
