| - Talk about a let down!
Having just opened less than a week ago, the wife and I were super excited to try out a place dedicated to Funnel Cakes.
First off, the atmosphere is a little too high intensity for me, with electronic music blasted throughout the restaurant. But we're here for the funnel cakes...
So, we ordered the "large" 8-inch $9.50 (!) funnel cake, plus another $2.00 for ice cream and $.50 (the best deal) for strawberries. For that kind of money I expect the world's best funnel cake as described by the sign.
Next, we wait for about 20 minutes in an EMPTY restaurant for our funnel cake. Plus, what arrives is not so much a cakes as a series of small crunchy dough bits with ice cream on top. Think of what it's like when you are cooking pancakes and the drips from the spoon or ladle end up cooking alongside your pancake. That's about what to expect here. Just the drops.
There's a chance the place is salvageable, since the dough, what little (and I stress little) was not in tiny crispy bits, was actually quite tasty, and the ice cream and sauce were good. Too bad right now, I have to put up with slow service, overpriced items and worst of all, bad product.
