Tao Restaurant is located inside Venetian and has such a decadent interior, with red and dark hues and Buddha statues everywhere. I find absolute culinary perfection at Tao Restaurant, and I will be more than happy to explain why.
My three girl friends and I decided to spend New Years Eve together. But what can we do when NYE is in less than 36 hours? Where we go that isn't too far from home, yet not so close? Where can we party til the sunrises?
SIN CITY!
*Ding, ding, ding, DING!*
Who would have known the four of us were locked, loaded, and ready to go within 12 hours after saying yes. After three and a half hours of driving, we finally arrived. we made managed to sweep dinner reservations just a few hours beforehand. After we finished dolling up for the big night, we spent the next hour finding parking at the Venetian parking lot. The staff was kind enough to hold our reservations, even though we were 30 minutes late.
When we got to the restarant, we were greeted by a female hostess, who seated us immediately. She was HAWT (full blown double dees and a badonkadonk). We were given warm towels to wipe our hands and given menus. We started off with a Satay of Chicken with Peanut Sauce ($10) as an appetizer.
Please do yourself a great favor and order these two items:
- Crispy Filet of Red Snapper with Spicy Thai Peanut Sauce ($29)
- Miso Glazed Chilean Sea Bass with Wok Vegetables ($34)
Both plates were cleaned completely. If I was home alone, I would have licked the plates off.
Shame on you if you don't try these two dishes out!
In my 23 years of existence, I have never EVER ordered fish from a restaurant because I was born a lean, mean, meat-eating machine. However, after my wonderful experience at Tao, I've opened up my palete and ventured into fish entrees.
One of my friends ordered the Wasabi Crusted Filet Mignon with Tempura of Onion Rings ($36), which is just okay, but not nearly as delectable as the sea bass and red snapper. I'd have to delete one star for that because at that price, I would expect it to taste better.
All of the cocktails are $12.5. Try the Blue Zen (Cruzan Citrus, Malibu Rum, Blue Curacao, Pineapple Juice).
The desserts range from $9-12. Our waiter highly recommended the Giant Fortune Cookie (filled with white and dark chocolate mousse). Four people can share this.
Every bite of the red snapper, sea bass, and giant fortune cookie were sensually pleasing to the palette. The only words we can utter were "mmms" and "ahhhs" throughout the entire meal.
I have yet to try the sushi the next time I come here again. Hopefully, it will be soon.
