I agree with most of the 3 stars on this posting on FF.
I used to be a varsity athlete so know that hard work needs to be taken seriously. However Tony takes it to the extreme. He seems to be a nice guy outside of his classes but during, he's really is a drill sergeant. For a guy who worked in the Marine Corps, I don't think profanity is needed. Yes, yell but you don't have to swear. He yelled and swore so much i starting laughing because it started being comical on how ridiculous he was being.
But I think he knew too for he started laughing with me. But in the end if you don't handle being yelled at constantly then this place is not for you.
I went with a couple of my friends who were trying to get back into shape. One of my friends was on the bigger size but they advertise all levels welcome. Not the case. There are a lot of hard core people at these classes and they just give you looks if you can't keep up. Can motivate you to work harder but can also demotivated you if you are already having a hard time getting back in shape. And doesn't
help when my friends who were bigger girls were being singled out. Swat lower. They couldn't and you embarrass them! We should be encouraging them not
belittling them.
You really do need to have a thick skin for these classes but yes, good workout. Although I too worry about proper form and safety for there are too many people in some classes.
If yelling is not your thing, try barre3 down the street. They are completely the opposite. They're encourage and motivate you to try your best. I go there now for I thought I wanted to be pushed to the next level but rather do that on my own terms and feel good about myself.
