The Omni Hotel is undoubtedly a beautiful hotel in a historic building. The lobby alone is worth stopping by to see. Ornate ceilings and marble staircases. Friendly bellhops and doormen. Extravagant chandeliers and rugs.
Unfortunately the rest of the hotel does not live up to expectations. Most of the rooms are small. That would be okay if they were extremely fancy and modern, but they aren't. They're pleasantly decorated and reasonably comfortable and that's about it. For the typical Omni rate of close to $200 a night that just doesn't seem like enough to be worth it.
The food here is simply not that memorable. I've had mostly average meals here and average service. Like so many hotels, you're better off spending your money at one of the many fine standalone restaurants nearby.
The Omni William Penn is still a nice hotel and I wouldn't write it off as an option. However I would recommend Embassy Suites or the Westin as a better downtown option over the Omni. You'll get more for your money.
