| - Melissa is the scheduler. I dealt with her through email, in coordinating everything I needed done. Melissa was wonderful. I have a work schedule that makes things very challenging to get done. Melissa was wonderful in assisting me to the best of her ability. Thank you Melissa. I greatly appreciate it.
Now on to the superstar of the group. Michael. Michael is the electrician. I feel like it would be insufficient to say that Michael takes pride in his work and goes above and beyond his duty to make sure that everything is done and is done RIGHT!
This is what I had Michael and his crew do for my house:
Install four Ring Floodlight Cameras, that all had to be hard wired where there was no wiring.
Install one Ring Video Doorbell Elite.
Install one new outlet in my garage for my secondary fridge.
Install one new outlet behind my tv, so that I could better hide all my wires.
Swap out 18 different light switches with new smart switches.
Swap out 1 outlet with a new smart outlet.
This is a lot of work to be done in one day, but Michael made sure it was done, done correctly, and did so brilliantly! As with any big project, of course there were complications, none of which were Michael's fault, yet he worked through them all and did one hell of a job!
Of the four floodlight cameras installed, only one of them had no issues with installing. One of them worked briefly, but quickly stopped working. Michael stayed extra late, to the point that I felt guilty, to try and get it to work right. He waited while I talked to Ring support, to try and find a solution. The end result, I had a faulty camera. Ring sent me a replacement and Michael came back out a few days later to install the replacement.
The remaining two cameras, had a different kind of issue. The mount for the cameras only came with a flush mount. This worked great for the front and back of the house, where I wanted a straight shot view directly out from the house. However, for the north and south side of my house, I wanted the cameras to face to the west, towards the street. This wasn't possible for the existing mounts that came with the cameras. Since it was a flush mount, the cameras on the north and south side of the house could only face north and south.
No problem for Michael the superstar. Michael already knew that he had to come back in a few days to install the replacement camera, so he told me he'd go home and come up with a plan to mount the cameras in the direction that I wanted. When he came back in a few days, that's exactly what Michael did. He did an absolutely brilliant job and they all look beautiful now.
The doorbell installation proved no real challenge for Michael. Sure, he had to figure out how to get an ethernet cable from my modem, over to the front of my house, but he did so. It looks incredible and functions wonderfully.
The new outlet in my garage and behind my tv...............not even remotely an issue for Michael. No drywall repair needed either.
As to all the switches and outlet, again some challenges, and again Michael took them all on. Of course many or all of my existing switches, did not have a proper ground installed. So Michael had to install a ground to all the new switches. Working with the smart switches was totally new to me and new to Michael as well in some regards. We both learned something on this one. Such as how to properly program them. Initially, Michael and I thought that I had about five faulty new switches.
This was one of the reasons that Michael stayed extra late that first day. Michael went above and beyond in trying to get these "faulty" switches to work. They were working by manually using them, but I was trying to get them to work via the app my phone. Eventually, we determined that they were faulty. Michael spent a lot of extra time trying to get them to work. However, later on, I realized that they weren't faulty at all, and I simply wasn't programming them correctly. I'm sorry I wasted so much of your time on that one Michael.
In all, I was extremely happy with Eco Electric and I can't fathom ever using another company for future electric needs. That is of course, unless they foolishly let Michael get away from them some day. lol.
Somewhere down the road, I have some other electrical projects to do around the house, and I will absolutely be contacting Eco Electric again.
