What happened??
You took a beat up McDonald's and fashioned it into a nice place to go and have some amazing food. I loved the food....and the people were awesome! Seems like for two years things were pretty good.. Glory days!
Then... the wheels fell off.
Maybe it was sold? Maybe they could not find decent help? Maybe it's as simple as nobody there gives a crap?
It sure feels a lot less like a nice restaurant and more like a gathering place for a group of people intent on doing as little as possible. Perhaps if I had not experienced Flo's during it's better days this would not be so obvious or sad.
Went there for dinner a few weeks back and although the place was half full we were seated at a table that had been cleaned by someone with an art background. Little tidbits and other morsels where thoughtfully scattered on the table and chairs. The floor was gross. No other way to describe.
We ordered. The food did arrive pretty quickly. So that's good. Some of it was not what we ordered so a few points off for that. We called over the waiter who took it back and after a while did bring the correct order. I will say the crab puffs were pretty good although I do like em chewy. The best way to describe the food is to say it was ok...but it used to be great.
So the overarching impression as we walked out was this.
The hospitality they used to exhibit has lessened greatly over time. From entry to exit it was clear that taking care of diners was on the list....but not too close to the top. Combine that with food that used to be awesome and now is average at best and you have a losing combination.
Cannot see any reason to go back....but would like to find one.
