I stayed at the Chelsea Hotel when I was in Toronto at the end of March for a wedding. The service was fine and my room was basic but clean; however, the experience on the floor was a total disaster. I had to report noise issues several times (I didn't even check-in until almost midnight) and twice a drunk man tried to get into my room, banging on the door and trying to use his key to get in.
Pros:
- good location, central to everything in downtown
- relatively inexpensive
Cons:
- didn't feel safe
- very basic ammenities
