  • I used to love MGM back when it first opened, the lazy river pool, the west wing rooms, the pony game, the nightlife, rainforest, but so much has changed. I usually stay at Delano, but was here on business and MGM was more convenient with its proximity to the monorail. One cool feature they offered me was mobile check in. My key was ready at a kiosk when I got there, no line. The bad news was I had my room number but no clue what tower I was in. Found my tower and headed to the elevators. First thing I noticed is ugh the ventilation at this place is not good. This place is more smoky than I am used to. We were in the wellness room. Let me just tell you, don't waste your money. It says guaranteed non-smoking but our floor still smelled like cigarette smoke. The air purification system did not turn on at all. There was no aroma coming out of the aromatherapy unit. The dawn simulator alarm clock had some random time on it and it's a bit complicated, I had to google how to set the time and alarms as there was no manual. I don't know what the long wave night lighting is they advertise, but we didn't have that in our room, maybe it's the green hue coming off the hotel glaring into your room. We did not have cedar elements it smelled like a normal used hotel room nothing special at all. As for the vitamin c infused water, it was on the shower head, but I came back so broken out and I usually have clear skin so not sure how it is maintained. That and there was no water pressure. Plus the water coming out of the sink occasionally smelled stagnant. The one good thing about this room is the mattress. It's memory foam. I jumped on it expecting air and was slightly disappointed when it did not bounce back, but I got such great sleep and my back and neck felt great the next morning. If the other rooms have this bed though I'd just save my money and get a normal room. Don't get duped like I did into paying an upgrade fee for some non-existent features.
