I bought two Toronto CityPasses in person at the CN Tower on 5/16/16. I went to the aquarium the next evening, 5/17/16, when it was supposed to be open. I was told that the aquarium was closed to the public due to a private event. I asked if I could get a partial refund but was told no and that the closure was on the website. I'm not sure if he meant the Citypass or aquarium website. In any event, I don't think the CityPass user should have to be expected to check the website regularly to see if there is a closure. No one told me about any closure when I bought the Citypass. There should be a big asterisk on the Citypass stating that attractions may be closed due to special events. Needless to say, we were greatly inconvenienced on our short stay in Toronto.
