  • My folk dance group rented a hall at Ellas for our annual fundraiser dinner. I don't know too much about the administrative details but the waitstaff were super-nice and the venue is elegant and nicely decorated. The washrooms were clean and spacious (which is good because we had to change into various outfits throughout the evening) but only 2 of the 5 taps were functioning. We had access to the bride's room for changing and it had it's own washroom, but the space is tiny and the toilet has no lid (I'm always afraid something might fall in when there is no lid). Isabeta was kind enough to let us use one of the un-rented spaces as a change room which was great because there were over 20 of us performing and we are used to tight quarters backstage but having the extra room made everything that much easier and more enjoyable. The food was simple but good and the portions were generous; the chicken breast was moist and the the rice was fluffy. They were very accommodating with our requests, they even served the dancers first so we could get on with the show. The address is a little awkward to get to but it has it's own parking lot and is in a quieter part of town so there isn't too much traffic. The cash bar was a little pricey ($5 for a domestic beer) but overall it is a good venue.
