| - It's been a little while since we last had breakfast here, and I am once again reminded of why we love Hash House so much. The fresh, delicious food and the friendly service. Everything here is made from scratch, and Mary, Darlene, and Martha welcome you by name, like family, even though they are always busy.
This morning I tried the party hash for the first time, and it may be my new favorite. It's a mix of corned beef, roast beef, ham, and chicken hash with sautéed onions, mushrooms, peppers, and jalapeños, served with eggs and 2 sides. I do not enjoy super spicy food, so have been leery of the jalapeños in it. I needn't have been. They added just the right hint of spice. I also topped off the potatoes with homemade spicy ketchup and homemade chipotle sauce. Yum!
My husband had his usual: scrambled eggs with cheese, enormous homemade sausage patty, and 2 sides of grits with cheese. The sausage patty is hamburger-sized, and he loves it (even though he usually prefers links). I often waffle between one or another hash (corned beef, roast beef, lamb, super, duck, or lobster) and the waffle breakfast. I always enjoy whatever I choose, and Mary is always adding new items to the menu. I bring all my friends here, and they love it.
