| - I have been practicing hot yoga at Amazing Yoga for several years and it is by far my favorite studio in Pittsburgh. Owned by a very friendly local family, they have locations in Shadyside, South Side, and Wexford. The shadyside location offers around 5-6 classes a day, with the earliest starting at 6:15 am...great for people who need to get to work early.
The studio is small, but I never feel that there isn't enough room. Only thing that they're lacking is another bathroom. There is an entrance area which has a check in desk, a boutique with yoga clothes and gear, and 2 changing rooms. The main studio is kept at a steamy 90 degrees and has 1 bathroom..which there can be a long line for at times!
They offer beginners classes and all the teachers are always willing to help you with your practice. If you are new, I would recommend letting the teacher know beforehand so they can keep an eye on you. It is such a great workout and if you go several times a week, you will absolutely notice changes in your body and mind! You don't need to be a human rubberband in order to succeed at yoga..the teachers always remind you to focus on your breath and everything else will fall into place. The instructors give verbal cues as to when to switch poses, focus on your breath, or make modifications. They also walk around and provide assistance and corrections to everyone.
Pricing varies for classes, but they do offer a $7 for 7 days deal for new students. It doesn't get much cheaper than that! Namaste!
