| - Fun VR experience, and good value for the money.
What do you want out of a VR lounge? If you care about stylish logos, fancy aesthetics, a tailored experience and a well designed space, then this place is not for you. But if you want to just cut all the crap and play some fun games, this place is great.
First, check Groupon before you go, as they have some good deals for this place if you're going off peak hours.
The staff was friendly and explained things well enough. The main thing I was afraid of was wasting time - time I was paying for - and they were good at getting you set up and oriented fast. They also recommended some good games, and let you get into them fast. In 30 minutes we had enough time for 4-5 rounds of multi player games, along with 2 rounds of Serious Sam (which I highly recommend!). The process was easy: staff ask you what you want, recommend a few things if you're interested, and then set everything up for you.
The equipment worked well and was comfortable and clean, though my screen was a bit out of focus. They use the HTC Vive, and Steam VR I believe. The PC's they are using clearly have significant horsepower, and I never saw any lag or slowdown even in the more frantic moments.
The space is big enough, though I did accidentally tap my partner a few times while I was swinging around. I'm tall though so YMMV. It's VERY basic looking, but your face is going to be in a machine so what does it matter?
Finally, an important point: the AC at this place is set to a really nice, cool temperature. So it's a good place to come even on a hot day! That said my face did get sweaty from the activity, but I expected that haha.
Overall, this is a good, no frills VR experience. If you want to jump right in and just PLAY, I highly recommend. I'll be back!
