| - I wish I could give Tami two separate reviews: 4 stars for lactation support, but 0 stars for follow-up and reliability. Tami is clearly very experienced and helpful with breastfeeding issues-- however, her "service after the sale" has been extremely disappointing.
I contacted Tami when my 3 day old baby suddenly stopped latching, and nursing had become very painful. She responded quickly and even came out on Christmas day to help. For that, I am still grateful. During our session, she told me that my daughter had a tongue tie and referred me to Dr. Tara to have it revised, which I did. We had one followup session a week later, and then...nothing. I had some nursing questions, which I texted to her and never got a response. Thankfully, I was able to find another lactation consultant who actually answers her phone. With all the issues my daughter had, if I had waited for Tami, I probably would have stopped nursing a long time ago.
I was also promised superbills (invoices) so I could submit her visits to my insurance for reimbursement, and I lost count of how many times I have texted asking for those without success. 3 months later, I still don't have it. My requests have either been completely ignored, or met with excuses as to why she still hasn't sent it. It's now been almost 2 weeks since she was supposed to have sent them to me in the mail. At this point, I've pretty much accepted that I probably won't ever get them. Sadly, after reading others' experiences, it seems that this is a common problem.
Bottom line: if you need a lactation consultant who is responsive and keeps their word, look elsewhere.
