As a coffee aficionado myself, I can't help but be so excited every time I discover a new indie cafe in Toronto. Bud's is a great space and in a great neighbourhood!
Their lattes, cappuccinos and other espresso drinks are great. They expertly craft great beverages using quality beans (Cut roasters - Sam James).
The coffee is smooth, aromatic and beautiful.
The only quibble is that I see a lot of flies really taking it to their pastries every time I visit. :(
While the space is great(rustic with a hippie vibe), it's not a place to hang out. There's not a lot of chairs and/or tables but then again with this place being beach-side (almost), why would you want to be indoors?
