  • We recently had building works done on our basement, including some jack hammering, all the sounds and strange people in the house turned my cat, Disco, into a ball of stress, so much so she started to "eat" herself. She gnawed and chewed at the base of her tail until it was a mess, so off to the vet we went. I looked around on yelp and found Queen West who were highly rated, and only a short drive away. I called and explained the situation and they made an appointment for me that evening. When we got there, the receptionists were all quite nice, but it was when the veterinary nurses came in that things started to amp up. They were so gentle with Disco, cooed over her, pronounced her the prettiest cat in all the land, you could tell they just genuinely loved animals and this wasn't just "a job". They gave Disco a steroid shot to try to speed up the healing process and some spray to deter her from licking, suggesting not to use a cone because of the stress it causes, we also updated her vaccinations. $100 later we headed home, but it turned out Disco hated the spray so much, she just forced herself to lick it off, so unfortunately, the cone had to come out. We went back a week later and the receptionists were much nicer, and had ordered in some Feliway for Disco to help with the stress. Worked a treat!! Again the cooing, to the point where one nurse went to get another nurse to show how pretty Disco was, at which point I said I wish my doctor would do the same with me! Disco has since completely healed up and doesn't chew or lick that spot at all, and all the hair has grown back, she's totally back to normal. Queen West called twice after our appointment to check up on her, see how she was doing and offer advice along the way, which I really appreciated. I also never got the feeling I was being 'sold' to, just that they were concerned for the welfare of my cat. Definitely a clinic I'd entrust my furry child with any day :)
