This was the perfect place to stay during my business trip in August.
The best part of my stay was Cherry, the mat Pilates instructor over at the fitness center. I assumed it would be cake, but she really pushed me and I got in a great workout! Cherry was extra nice, outgoing and accommodating. Thanks Cherry! :)
The rest of the staff were also very courteous and helpful. Rooms were large, clean and well appointed.
I ate at several restaurants in the casino, and found the "Grand Cafe" to be the most consistent. To be honest, the food was pretty mediocre and my advice would to be stay in the $13-18 price range to avoid being disappointed. Still, the dining options and quality did seem on par to what I'd expect from an off-strip Vegas hotel.
When I checked in I did have some issues with my room. They booked me into a "smoking optional" (quite the doublespeak!) room, so i asked to have the room changed. The next room had problems with the HVAC. They were fully booked, so I ended up with a smoking room anyway. It's amazing how the smoke smell that's in the carpet and wallpaper still seem to get into the towels and even your clothing. Still, it didn't ruin my trip. I'd totally stay here again.
