| - Went in for my birthday and did not have a good experience. I purchased a package with a body wrap, teeth whitening, and a facial. The whitener put on my teeth burned my gums pretty badly. A mouth guard was put on me while the practitioner simultaneously gave me a facial. Can you imagine? The mouth guard was extremely uncomfortable and a terrible idea to put on me while I'm supposed to be getting a relaxing facial. This was done at my expense in order to save them time. She took it off because I told her it was burning my gums too badly. It was so bad I thought "surely my gums are bleeding" and while my gums did not bleed, the whitening solution burned a little indent into one of my front teeth!! On top of that I broke out right after getting the facial, which has never happened to me with any of the multiple facials I received at other establishments. The whole thing seemed really rushed and was not relaxing at all. To top it all off....upon leaving I was to receive a little gift bag which was hurriedly thrown together with two random things they had lying around (they actually didn't have any of the goody bags you're supposed to receive with a yelp check in). One of the items was a sample from a basket that was available to every one and the other items was a sample of some liquid that was in marked and did not have the ingredients on it. When I asked what was in it (like why would I put something on my face that I have no idea what's in it), she did not know the ingredients.
The whole experience was uncomfortable, unprofessional, and shady at best.
Updated review:
The owner reached out to me and offered to refund my money as well as reschedule me for a service.
2nd time:
Unfortunately, it was not a good experience. The owner has used my personal info collected from my first visit to text me on several occasions, which is unprofessional and exhibits very poor boundaries. There were several reasons why this ultimately ended up being a very bad experience , but I will focus on two aspects. The first one are the negative and catty remarks the owner made to me about the original employee who provided my services on my first visit. This made me extremely uncomfortable, especially whilst I am laying down and receiving a service from her and she is making negative remarks about her own employee. She also told me she would get me in when the original employee was not there, but that was not the case. I didnt really care, but don't say you're going to do something then not do it. The owner texted me last minute saying she could not make the appointment, then rescheduled me for another time that same day without consulting me about whether the time would work. Unacceptable. It's not the customers job to be understanding about your personal life. This is a business relationship, I'm not your friend. The second main issue (obviously there were several) is that I had a rosacea flare up in one small area of my cheek. The owner promised me she could help it but she made it much worse. It was handled in a manner that suggested a lack of knowledge in regards to that particular skin condition.
