  • I will be making my comparisons to UMC quick care because that is the mot common quick care used here in Henderson/Las vegas. If you have been to UMC quick care you know its always a huge long wait and everyone in the waiting room looks like they have some kind of infectious disease. its often packed to the point of not being able to find a seat. I was very ill one day and walked into a UMC quick care saw it was jam packed with people and felt like I would walk out of there catching several other illnesses while waiting to take care of the one I had. Not to mention the lady at the desk was so rude. Not once did she look up at me and make eye contact she just handed me a clipboard with ppw and sharply told me to fill it out. Feeling uneasy I decided to leave and give this Urgent Care Extra a shot even though it was $30 more then if I were to wait the 3+hours at the quick care. The waiting room here are Urgent Care Extra is very very clean. there is a comforting feeling while waiting to be seen by the doctor. Depending on how busy they are you could wait anywhere from 15 mins to 2 hour. On this particular day I was seen within 5 mins because no one else was in the waiting room. There is only 1 doctor on staff but in my opinion its well worth the wait. I rather wait in a clean waiting room for however long then wait in the one like UMC quick care. There is a major difference in establishments. Not to mention people here are very friendly and courteous. The staff at most UMC quick cares are rude and treat you like you are a nuisance/just a number, rather then a patient in need of treatment. I was diagnosed and got my medicine all within 30 mins. They offer to fill prescription's here for $15 rather then having to go to a pharmacy and pay high prices for meds. This is a wonderful option for those without health insurance or those with high co-pays. However, if it benefits you to go to a pharmacy you can choose to get a paper prescription and go to your pharmacy of choice. Since my first visit I take everyone in my family here for there Urgent care needs. The doctors are awesome and caring and they do not rush you out of the office. They actually take the time to check you out and discuss options with you. I would like to also again say it well worth the wait on a busier day considering I have never waited less then 2+ hours at any other urgent care.
