I rarely go to Mt. Lebanon to eat but my friend took me here on a dinner date!
First of all he made reservations online and specified he wanted seating outside on the patio. When we got there they did have seating available but not on the patio/courtyard so we had to wait 15 minutes to be seated where we wanted.
Next they guided out back to the courtyard which was beautiful. They had nice big trees covered in lights with statues and flowers around. The building had green vines growing up the side of them, was like a little slice of Italy in someone's back yard! It was romantic and quaint little area. We enjoyed it immensely! Only thing that bothered me was customers a few tables over we're obnoxiously loud and talking to the neighboring table across from them since they ran into people they knew.
Now onto the food we got served bread which was ok. Basically their pizza dough with olive oil and a small sprinkle of parsley. It was good but could of been spruced up a bit with some more flavors. My companion orders the lasagna which was delicious and cooked perfectly. It had a nice balance of cheese, sausage, and noodles. Then I ordered the gnocchi verde which was to die for!! The gnocchi has spinach and ricotta cheese mixed in it covered in a delectable sage and butter sauce. I have to say it was the best gnocchi I ever tasted!! I highly recommend trying this dish some point in your life time! The gnocchi just melted in your mouth and was so flavorful.
Overall the food was fantastic! Only reason I gave 4 stars was having to wait for the seats we wanted, the bread could of been spiced up a bit, and I didn't like how I had to walk past the servers area ( putting in people's orders and talking ) to get out to the courtyard.
